Beautiful Bedroom

My bedroom is a very important place to me. When I moved out it was the only room in my flat that still felt like home, I guess because I had all the same furniture. It's where I go after a long day at work, to chill out, to watch TV, even to write my blogs. It's absolutely necessary for it to be beautiful, warm and homely. So I decided it needed a few more bits adding too it, just to make it seem more of everything.

So whilst I was out today I had a little look at all my favourite places to pick up home wear bargain, such as George at ASDA, H+M, Zara and TKMaxx, not the most high-end glamorous places I know, but they deliver good quality pieces for an affordable prices.

My room is entirely black and white themed, with lots of floral and vintage inspired details. So when I saw this Maison D'Amour cushion today I just had to have it. I already had the Paris cushion with the image of a woman in it and this one with the french nod complimented perfectly, and both tie in brilliantly with my floral bedding.

I love having cushions on the bed, they're great to snuggle up against when reading, or  to prop yourself up on first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee. This cushion was just £7 at George, and I love it.

The cross shaped weaving I made myself, and you can too if you read the blog post on it here. As for the candle collection, they vary as to where I bought them, some are from TKmaxx, some from George, one is a Woodwick, and some are gifts. I don't really have a preference on them, so long as they have an earthy scent.

I also purchased a little wooden incense cone tray from one of the shops in Southsea. One of those kooky boho ones with elephants and hamsa hands hanging in the window. The mug was also a cute recent buy, a tortoise in tribute to Felipe and Fernando, my cherry heads I left at my parents house, with the words 'Hurry up, I'm gasping!'.

I love all these new bits in my room, I like to change things up every now and then, to add interest and to keep it feeling fresh. This is one of the reasons I opted for fresh flowers. I think they bring a life to almost any room, so when I spotted this jug shaped vase at TKMaxx for just £9.99 I had to have it!
