What I'm Wearing: Wooden Spine

Hey, sport's fans. It's been a while since my last WIW post - 6 months to be exact - but the other day I was just slobbering around the house (my brand new house by the way) in jeans and jumper and just felt so un-me. So I had a quick rifle through my wardrobe and found this little black slip dress. At first, I dismissed it as a 'not for another few months' dress, you know, seeing as it's threatening snow on the South Coast every day... But then I remembered my mild obsession with ribbed turtle neck jumpers, so I thought... to layer or not to layer?

So I layered.

I felt much cuter this day than I would have done had I stayed in my thick cosy jumper and super relaxed jeans. Don't get me wrong - I love my jumper and jean combos, but I am loathed to spend so much money on summer dresses every year, for them then to spend nine months in the 'seasonal' part of my wardrobe. Grab a turtleneck, a pair of tights and layer your way through the SAD months, and keep looking East for the day the sun shines bright and hot again!

What I'm Wearing: Jac Vanek

So a few weeks ago one of my all time favourite people had a flash sale on her clothing website. I say favourite person here rather than a designer or anything like that because she's been a role model of mine for quite a while. By quite a while I mean when I was in school there were two really amazing women who I was constantly inspired by. As the years have gone on and they've grown from being Scene Queens modeling for Trash Mag into really incredible women with a real care and passion for the earth, the people in it and with a really positive message to give out. These two women are called Audrey Kitching and Jac Vanek. Now I have already own tons of things by AK, mainly because it's always been a little bit cheaper, and considering you have to get it all shipped from the US, the cheaper the better really.

But as I was saying, Jac Vanek had a flash sale over pay day weekend, so, of course, I just couldn't help myself. I ordered the mantra military jacket which I don't think I have taken off for more than a few minutes since it arrived. The other thing i ordered was on her her vintage flannels. All of her flannels have things written on the back of them for the sassy bitch in all of us. The one I bought has the words 'Please do not talk to me. I am only here for the food' printed in large letters across the back.

Take a look at how I styled this truth-speaking shirt below. I went for quite a grungey outfit, teaming it up with black skinny jeans, my classic 1460 Doc's, and a slick of muted purple matte lipstick.

Triple Layer Necklace - Topshop (similar here)
Large Blue Earrings - Found
1460 Doc's - Dr Martens
Velvetines Matte Liquid Lipstick in Teddy Bear - Lime Crime
Blue Eyeshadow in Filter - Lime Crime

The flannel I got from JV is really super soft and a very high-quality fabric and the military jacket is made with a proper sturdy fabric, so although they're expensive they are very worth it. One thing i will say though about the shipping process to the UK is that it does take a while. It took two weeks for these goodys to come, and then I had to pay duty on them when they arrived. So just be warned on that front if you do order from here that once it gets to your local post office, you'll have to pop in and pay the duty before you can collect.

I really honestly love my jackets and shirt though so will 100% be ordering again even if it takes a while to come and there's a bill to pay at the end.

What I'm Wearing: Dark Florals

Finally, it's starting to seem like summer is on its way. After a winter that lasted almost as long as the one that the Starks keep warning us about - it's amazing to finally see some sun. It's been pretty baking down here on the south coast. Unfortunately, I haven't bee able to enjoy it as much as I would have liked due to me literally being here-there-and-everywhere at the minute. I've been working in Weymouth and Dorchester a lot recently which has taken me away from my 40hour weeks and My home in Gosport to doing more like 60hour weeks and living off Chinese in hotel rooms - so you'll forgive the massive gap between my last post and this one.

This is a new outfit I recently purchased because - hey - I felt I deserved something nice! It's a lovely dark navy wrap dress with backless detail. It's mid length so it's still very stylish and sophisticated, but I think the wrap detail and plunging neckline are a little bit sexy too. I think this dress works well on its own, or, teamed with a leather jacket in the cooler evenings. I also believe that once autumn rears it's head again this dress will still look smoking teamed with black tights and a white or black long-sleeved undershirt.

What I'm Wearing: You Were Born Lost

Happy Tuesday! Today's look is just a real simple laid back ripped jean and crop top combo, but layered with a grid print shirt, and edged-up with tons of jewellery and black suede high heels. This top is one of my faves and I got it from the incredible fashion site Nüer Clothing. I love how well it layers, and how great it looks just on its own over a black skirt or skinny jeans. I also basically used this as an excuse to show off my Leia buns. Because I love them and think they're super cute!

Ripped Jeans - Topshop
Cropped High-Neck Top - Missguided
Black High Heels - Carvela Kurt Geiger

I just think this is a fantastic look. Switch out the heels for some trainers and you've got a fab errand outfit, or with the heels, a little leather jacket and red lipstick you're set for a night out with the girls!

Have a great week everyone!!

What I'm Wearing: Autumnsong

Once autumn rolls around there's really nothing for it but to put on your fav jeans and a baddy, cozy jumper. Team them with a leather jacket and a huge scarf and settle in for the winter that's coming. So when I start feeling that little chill in the air and I can smell Christmas when I step outside I go straight for this warm and wonderful outfit.
When I took these it couldn't have been a more classically autumnal day. The trees down the embrasure wall (horizontal arrow slits) I take my pictures on had an ombré of green, to yellow, to orange across their canopies and somewhere nearby there was a bonfire. It was a beautiful crips, clear autumn day and this outfit was the perfect thing for it.

What I'm Wearing: The Imitation Zone

2015 fashion has been heavily dominated by a seventies comeback. Covering a revival of everything from vintage folk to retro punk. I have always been obsessed with all think of a forgotten era as well. My chosen decade is two earlier than the David Bowie's and Runaways of this world, but I'm still a fan of these cute and chic styles.
One day last week I was wearing this roll neck top that's an absolute favourite of mine, and I remembered seeing this corduroy dunger-dress and in my mind an outfit was formed. I got it last week for my birthday and I love it. Navy and Burgundy work beautifully together and teaming it with my platform Litas.

I am loving this trend at the minuet and will definitely be trying out more seventies inspired looks. The thing with retro trends like this is finding the right balance between vintage and modern. What's your favourite trend at the minuet?

What I'm Wearing: Victorious Festival

On Sunday 31st August I went to my first ever Festival. I know, I know, I'm sure you've all done it before and my little local festival is going to seem very insignificant to your Downloads, IOW's and Reading's. But Victorious in Southsea is actually a fantastic and cheap alternative! Headliners this year included Basement Jaxx, Ella Eyer, Tinie Tempah, and many many more. One of the artists who played is a personal fave of mine, Andrew Foster. If you haven't heard his stuff I strongly recommend it.

So for Victorious I decided I had to plan my outfit carefully. I mean it's Britain, in August. Anything could happen. I went for bare legs incase it got hot, docs to protect from rain and mud. Shorts underneath incase of wind. Hair up just to cover all of the above. All in all it was a very successful outfit. My favourite skirt has seen the last of it's days though I think sadly. Between the cats pawing at it, and some muddy field marks. I think this maybe one of the last times we see this skirt (I just can't let go!)

As you can see this outfit combines all the key things you need for a festival including a tote bag the size of the TARDIS. No joke. I had two bottle of water, face wipes, travel wipes, tissues, hand sanatiser, a bottle opener, a whistle and flag, a glow stick, a blanket, a jumper, a waterproof poncho, lipstick, lip balm, suncream, hand cream, deodorant, a camera, a phone, hair ties, hair grips, a hair brush. + that's just the stuff I came with - I left with more I promise you. This bag from Lush though really is one of the greatest bags I've bought. The proceeds go towards ending animal testing, as well as loads of other important charitable movements + it's super strong and super big. Perfect for everything.

Cat Eye Sunglasses - Topshop
Lace Topped Socks - Topshop

Patent Docs - Doc Martens

What do you usually wear to a festival? + do you come with everything but teh kitchen sink when you do go? Also seeing as I mentioned Andrew Foster Earlier I thought I'd share with you one of my all time favourite songs The Garden - this is the first video and is a live version of him singing this fantastic song. Honest to God this is incredible if you don't like it then I'm pretty sure you're deaf. The second song is Race to the Truth from his latest EP "Check Signal Aspect" another live version but this time it's just him singing on Hayling Island.

The whole EP is inspired by life on the South Coast which is my little corner of the world as well. I'm lucky enough to know this man personally as well so I can tell you that he 100% is a great and lovely guy and deserves about 4.7 million % more recognition for his work. Yes. Four. Point. Seven. Million. Percent. More. But heres' the main things you need to know. He loves Doctor Who, he smiles more than Prof. Brain Cox (+ love space just as much), he has voice that I always want to listen too. In fact when I have children they will not have tradition lullabies - just Andrew Foster singing beautifully instead.

What I'm Wearing: Jumper #394

Hello! Welcome to my super new, super cute re-vamped blog! It's all very minimalist and it works beautifully with all of the new social media platforms I have set up to run along side it! I'm really happy with how it all looks and how it works so I thought I'd make a little What I'm Wearing post to showcase this beauty.

I have called in Jumper #394 because in reality - that's probably how many I own. I have had a ban on buying any more jumpers for the last two years from my family, friends and boyfriend (yet I always manage to get a few more!) because I just have sooo many. + I know, I know why on earth am I posting a jumper look at the height of August?! Well let me tell you it is not as sunny and warm as I would like it to be down here on the South Coast. But while a part of me is sad that the warm months have come and gone, another part is super happy. Jumpers are my fave thing to wear, with jeans, with mini skirts over dresses. Always so it means a return of my winter draw. Summer coming to an end also means my Birthday is getting ever closer, and I really am a child when it comes to Birthday's - I just get so excited! It also means that winter is coming, and with winter there's crisp orange leaves, beautiful pale morning frosts - and of course Christmas - my all time favourite holiday! (Only 19 more Friday's guys!)

This outfit basically features the essentials. A pair of over-worn super comfy black jeans, a loose fitting slightly cropped bright jumper, a slouchy beanie hat and statement slippers. Most of this outfit you'll be able to find easily in your high street - considering it's mainly affordable brands. All accept the shoes. The shoes are Jeffrey Campbell Martini Flats. I first picked a pair of these up on a trip to New York three years ago and loved them so much that when they wore through I immediately bought a new pair - but those little studs don't half scar your ankles up when you catch them as you walk!

Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bond Girl - Charlotte Tillbury
Matte Revolution Lipstick in Sexy Sienna - Charlotte Tillbury
All About Shadow Quad in Morning Java - Clinique
Filmstar Bronze and Glow in Sun Tan and Sun Light - Charlotte Tillbury

As above you can see I used two lipsticks to create this lovely muted coral shade, I simply went around the shape of my lips edge with Bond Girl, feathering it in a small bit where my lips are fullest and then tapped a little bit of Sexy Sienna along the inner parts of my lips to give a fuller more 3D effect. On my eyes I dusted over a full layer of the palest shade on the Morning Java quad. I then dabbed my eyelid with the golden colour and cut into the crease with the darkest brown to give this understated smokey eye - finishing the whole thing off with a simple flick of eyeliner.

Charlotte Tilbury II

Some of you maybe aware of my love for luxurious, extravagant make up, such as Chanel, Tarte and of course Charlotte Tilbury. But unfortunately I am not able to afford a full face of these incredible products - well I could - but pizza. So instead I go for a few key pieces that I refer to as 'Forever Extras'

By that I mean buying a few key pieces that you won't power through in a few months. For example I use Clinique make up everyday, and I have to replace my eyeliner and foundation every three months, my blusher every six. If I was spending luxury prices every time I'd have nothing left! So instead I see these pieces as an investment. A lipstick that I'll wear a few times a month, or a contour kit that I'll use for nights out. These are 'Forever Extras' the forever is obviously an exaggeration but what I mean by this is I can buy a lipstick and know it's not going to dwindle down really quickly. It will last and so is worth spending that little bit extra on.

Charlotte Tilbury's products are 100% worth it too! They all feel super silky on the skin and are full of nourishment to keep you feeling fantastic all day. Plus the rosey-gold packaging looks super sophisticated when you take it out your handbag in the bathroom of a restaurant. What I love most is they all evoke an image of the woman of yesteryear. Think Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe,  Jerry Hall, and just about every iconic woman of the last century.

She has just released a new range alongside Norman Parkinson, the iconic fashion photographer. Using his photos of previous vogue shoots as inspiration. This is an era that I am a huge fan of. I have an epic love of all things vintage so to find a modern make up, drawing as much inspiration from the past as I do is fantastic.

This time when I went to the Charlotte Tilbury concession at  Selfridges I purchased two items. The Filmstar Bronze and Glow conturing set in Sun Tan + Sun Light. This comes in a beautiful little compact with the Jerry Hall Vogue cover for May 1975 on the top. The two colours and stunning as well and blend so easily. The Sun Tan is a lightweight silky smooth, mediterranean sand colour. You simply paint this on around temples, nose, hollows of your cheeks, basically anywhere the sun would naturally hit. The Sun Light creme is a shimmery gold with ground peal to instantly give your skin a summer glow.

I also purchased a new Matte Revolution lipstick to wear with this look. The colour I bought however was not the Norman Parkinson collaborated Miss 1975, or the Miss Kensington. The colour I  bought is called Sexy Sienna. I would probably describe it best as a peachy, just off nude colour. Now don;t be put off by the fact it's Matte! It is the opposite of drying, your lips feel super nourished and full of moisture, and they don't look dull either. This collection of lipsticks reflect light brilliantly and give you a sumptuous, sexy pout.

I teamed this conturing holiday skin with a Matte Revolution lipstick I had bought previously. This one is called Bond Girl - sticking to that vintage image you see - and this is a dark yet muted, red wine stain colour. It's sexy and bold, and a perfect red lip if you can't get away with the glossy orange-red that Taylor Swift sports so often.  This is probably my favourite lip colour of all time. It's a subtle red, oozing sophistication and works perfectly with the majority of my outfits - especially if I'm having a goth day!

If you are unsure on all these luxury products but like me want a few key pieces I would have to direct you to Charlotte Tilbury.  I truly believe you get what you pay for and for these fantastic products the slightly steeper price is completely justified! + if you're a sucker for cute packaging like me, you won't be disappointed either!

Flawless Skin with Clinique

Clinique are a universally loved make up brand. All their products bring out the best possible version of your skin, bridging cosmetics with skincare. I have been an avid user of their skin care range for a while now, not daring to deviate from this trusted brand. But the other day I decided it was time I went for a Clinique make up bag, knowing it was the best thing for my skin.

Above is an image of my skin before and after using these miracle workers. I love the way these products have transformed my skin, leaving it soft and glowing. I wanted a foundation that would last all day without falling off, but with a light texture, nothing to cloggy or heavy. That's why I opted for the Even Better foundation in Alabaster. It's silky texture makes it super easy to apply using your fingers or a brush, it stays in place all day and never looks tired or worn out.

I also bought their universal primer which is a lovely consistency, smooths on like a dream and keep everything in it's place. I use the primer straight away after moisturising my skin with Moisture Surge skin cream and the All About Eyes cooling serum.

On my eyes I went for this multi-neutural brown toned pallet, I have always gone for eyeshadows like this, I love a pale shimmery colour all over my sockets, right up to the brow line. A little bit of a gold across the lid, a dark brown in the crease and a very dark thin line along my lash line. This is the All About Shadow Quad in Morning Java. I finished my eyes with a quick once over of Lash Doubling Mascara.

On my cheeks I like a glittery rosie glow along my cheek bones so to achieve this look I went for the Cheek Contouring Palette, which is fantastic because it includes a contour in the darkest shade, a blush in the mid shade and a highlighter in the lightest shade, Three in one - no sweat. On my lips I wanted a subtle pinky glow, and my friend very kindly bought me this shade of Woppin' Watermelon.

What I'm Wearing: Killjoy

There are days when I like to pretend I'm something else. I used to dress up all the time as a child and had probably the worlds biggest dress up box.  On top of that I love fantasy, sci-fi and action films and books. So I can get very absorbed in make believe world where Intergalactic Vagabonds are all that stands between this world and total destruction. So this outfit today comes from one of those super nerdy moments. I called it Killjoy because to be honest my biggest inspiration for this sort of Back to the Future steampunk came from an album called 'The Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys' by My Chemical Romance (oh) I also studied every video super in depth for my combined story/photography project.

I really love this look, it's a bit different but not overly out there. I love all the layers and how much is going on in this outfit. But if you are interested in seeing where my inspiration for this outfit came from I've posted the videos below.

Bath Time with Lush and Roses

Baths are my all time favourite way to chill out by myself. I get toe scape from all things in the world for an hour a week, I play some uplifting and melodic music and I am gone from the world for a while. So when I finished work today I thought I'd have some quality 'me' time with some of the Lush stuff I've accumulated.

I opted for the Tisty Tosty bath bomb from Lush this time. It's embedded with seven real roses, rose oil, lemon and jasmine, and is based on a real medieval love potion - perfect if you spend all your free time absorbed in Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings!

One of the things I love about this bath bomb is that it doesn't dye the water, which means you don't finish your relaxing bath to the scrub out a bright purple colour from the bottom of your tub. The scent fills the room entirely and chills you out perfectly. I added extra rose petals and bud to my bath because it feels super luxurious and I can pretend I'm a Princess.

To compliment the scents of my bomb and to create more of an ambiance I lit some vanilla and jasmine scented candles, as well ad my Woodwick candle for a soothing, warming crackling sound. This was a nice touch and transported me a thousand miles away from my little south coast flat to somewhere more magical and infinitely more relaxing.

Bath times though are not just for lounging and day dreaming, they're also for getting clean, which means I get to use my all time favourite product Buffy! Packed with softly exfoliating ground almonds, calming lavender oil, uplifting lemon notes and softening cocoa butter, it's a one way ticket to the skin of your dreams. It banishes cellulite, eliminates dry skin, and leaves your body feeling fresh and glowing. You can see in the picture above the ground bits of almond, they're pretty substantial to really give your skin the love it so deserves.

The last product I used today was Ocean Salt. You can use it all over your body, but I use Buffy for that so I just used it on my face. It gets into every nook of your skin completely slaying black heads and skin imperfections. It's also fruity fresh because it's packed with grapefruit and lime juice infusions. Plus it's not even overly drying either because the sea salt is balanced by skin-softening mango butter, however I still recommend using your usual facial moisturiser afterwards.

I also recommend taking your make up off throughly before as well, I was a little hasty with the make up wipes today, especially on my eyeliner! But I now feel super relaxed and all settled to chill out, and besides, after all Lush went through to make they're products calming it would be rude if I didn;t!
